COD MW series describes, a fictional war between Russia and America. COD MW, is the first and COD MW2 is the second, and COD MW3 is the third installments in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare series. Also they are the fourth, sixth and eight installments in the Call of Duty video game series.  Without going further, Here are some awesome facts about COD MW series.

1. Before MW series, you must know this fact.100 million people have played Call of Duty. That’s a larger population than most countries! If the entirety of the Call of Duty fan base formed a country it would have a greater population than Germany, France and the United Kingdom. They would be a credible international military threat. As long as they aren’t noob tubing.
2. Activision is the only publisher who broke their own world sale record for 4 consecutive years . Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 ( 2012 ) grossed over $ 500 million, in the US alone in its first 24 hours , 2011 ' s Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 grossed $ 400 million on one full day; 2010 ' s Call of Duty : Black Ops grossed $ 360 million on day one ; in 2009 , Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 brought in $ 310 million.
3. Fear you've fried your brain with one-too-many COD matches? Your lengthy sessions may have equipped you with some unexpected mental skills. A research paper published in Current Biology found that the decision making skills of 18 to 25-year-olds who played action-shooter gamers such as COD were faster than those of a group who had played strategic games such as The Sims 2 . 6. Modern Warfare 3 is the Fastest Selling Game of All Time. Modern Warfare 3 sold 8.8 million copies in its first month, breaking every sales record set prior. In fact, the previous record holder was another Call of Duty title, Call of Duty: Black Ops, at 8 million in sales. Unfortunately, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 sold only 7.4 million in its first month.
7. Modern Warfare 3 made $775 million in its first five days. That’s far more than 'Avatar,' the current highest grossing movie. If you put together the life-long sales of 'Avatar,' 'Titanic' and 'The Star Wars Force Awaken,' the three highest grossing movies of all time, they still barely make the $6.5 billion that Call of Duty had made by the time Modern Warfare 3 came out.
8. Believe it or not, North Korea used footage from Modern Warfare 3 in an anti-USA propaganda video demonstrating the U.S under severe attack.
9. As per a research study published in Current Biology, the reaction speed in gamers between 18 to 25 years old was much faster if they played Call of Duty rather than strategic games like The Sims.
10. COD: Modern Warfare 2 was one of the first gaming titles to ever received a red carpet premiere in London's Leicester Square and was a massive success.
    
11. Modern Warfare 2 features one of the most controversial missions in gaming history... "No Russian" . The mission allows players to take part in an act of terror by shooting hundreds of civilians, thus the mission has to be removed from the games in countries like Germany and Japan.
12. Did you ever wonder why there are many teddy bears lying down in the fields especially in the Multiplayer Mod? Well, if you’re a true lover of this game then you should know this fact too. During the development of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare, one of the developer’s daughter died while holding a teddy bear in her hand. The developers then added the same teddy bear in the game just for the sake of memory.
13. In the mission( MW 1) "All Ghillied Up", the player's partner, Capt. McMillan, is likely a reference to the McMillan Tac-50 sniper rifle, which is what a Canadian sniper team used to achieve the two longest distance confirmed sniper kills in history. Also, this mission considered  as one of the best mission in video game history.
    
14. Many of the minor soldier characters have the last names of the game's programmers.
15. In the beginning of the mission Mile High ClubMW1), two soldiers are having a conversation, one of them says "we're going deep and we're going hard" to which the second replies "surely you can't be serious!" To which the first replies "I am serious, and don't call me surely", this is a reference to the classic film Airplane!
16. In the level "Blood Brothers" when Yuri has his flashback, the first scene is in Pripyat, Ukraine. This is what the ultranationalists saw on the ground in a Call of Duty Modern Warfare level. The next scene is at the Al- Asad safehouse. Helicopters can be seen coming from the distance. Again, in Modern Warfare, the player is aboard one of these helicopters. And at the scene where Yuri crawls into the terminal in "No Russian" (Modern Warfare 2), he attempts to kill Makarov. If the player goes to the level in Modern Warfare 2 and turns around, Yuri can not be seen struggling to kill Makarov.(This is the first thing I had done after completeing COD MW3)
17. In the mission Team Player(MW2)as the player's Humvee is driving through the town, posters hanging on various walls show a mushroom cloud. The photo is actually of a 1952 U.S. nuclear test, Ivy Mike, the first full scale, true hydrogen bomb.
18. In the Wasteland multiplayer map(MW2)there is a poster with a lady and a small girl, both smiling, in one of the houses on the eastern edge of the map. The Russian writing on the poster says in English "Driver, they are waiting for you at home".
19. At the beginning of the mission "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday", an American submarine named the USS Dallas can be seen. This may be a reference to a submarine of the same name in the film "The Hunt For Red October" (1990).
    
20. On November 6, 2015, The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Activision Blizzard launched a production studio called Activision Blizzard Studios and are planning a live action Call of Duty cinematic universe in 2018 or 2019.

Bonus fact, Time Paradox In Modern Warfare  Remastered.

This involves killing Vladimir Makarov. Vladimir Makarov was the antagonist in Modern Warfare 2 and 3, so killing him in Modern Warfare 1 creates the time paradox that means the sequels never happened.

To get the Time Paradox trophy, you need to snipe Zakhaev, as before, then quickly snipe Makarov (Because he is in the out).Boom! Time paradox created.Awesome....!! Is'nt it?
